The Military App encompasses a range of physical and digital projects that help drive connection and improved wellbeing for the military and veterans' community. Our activations and initiatives are shaped and supported by a group of like-minded and passionate patrons.

Founding Patrons

Col Crispin Lockhart
MBE ADC
Colonel Crispin Lockhart joined the army and became a troop leader in the Blues and Royals in 1987. At Regimental Duty he undertook a plethora of appointments from Troop leading in Germany and Windsor, to Squadron Command, finishing in command of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. Staff jobs have seen Col Crispin posted to Shrewsbury, Dorset, Swindon and Chief of Staff London District. His most recent appointments have been as Household Cavalry Colonel Commanding (Silver Stick) and Commander Royal Armoured Corp. He is current Chairman of the Household Cavalry Foundation.

Col Crispin is passionate about the welfare of serving members and veterans. Since the initial concept, he has been a supporter of the Military App and the range of dynamic initiatives to connect the military community.

Col (Retd) Harry Fullerton
OBE
Harry Fullerton is a former British Army Officer. In 1987 he was commissioned into The Life Guards (part of the Household Cavalry) and served in a mix of reconnaissance, armoured and mounted ceremonial duty roles, both in the UK and abroad. He instructed at both the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the UK Defence Academy. He commanded the Household Cavalry Regiment from 2008-2011.

After further military service, he retired from the Army and set up his own business consultancy, SixFigureGrid. He is a supporter of the Household Cavalry Foundation, which provides charitable and pastoral support to all the members of Household Cavalry family: serving Soldiers, Operational Casualties and Veterans.

Col Harry was one of the first members of the Household Cavalry community to volunteer to lead a Walk+Talk and is a champion of its positive impact.
Capt (Retd) Chris Elliott

Chris enlisted into The Blues and Royals in May 1984 at the age of 18, and has served in Germany, Balkans, Cyprus, Canada, Kenya. Having spent most of his time at the Armoured Regiment (HCR) until 2003 when he was posted to the Mounted Regiment (HCMR) as the Regimental Quarter Master Corporal (RQMC). He received a Late Entry Commission in 2006 after transferring to the Royal Yeomanry as the Assistant Adjutant. In 2009 he was posted to Swindon as Permanent Staff Administration Officer until he resigned in 2014 after 30 years of service. In 2014 he was appointed as the Regimental Honorary Secretary of the Household Cavalry.

Chris is a hugely active member of the HCav community, actively involved with The Blues and Royals Officers Dining Club, Warrant Officers Dining Club, Household Cavalry Motorcycle Club and all HCav veteran social functions.

Chris has been a guiding force from day one in helping plan and grow the military app to best support the serving and veterans' community and is a lead advisor as we build systems that slot in efficiently alongside the Home Headquarters' team.
